Bucks Health branch is supporting meetings of Bucks Save Our Services in September to be held in Aylesbury and Wycombe at:
7.3Opm on Thursday 2nd September
at Aylesbury Vale Multicultural Centre,
Friarscroft Way, Aylesbury HP2O 2TE
and
7. 3Opm on Thursday 23rd September
at The Hub, Union Baptist Church, Easton Street, High Wycombe HPI 1 1NJ.
The aim is to bring unions, individuals and campaigning organisations together to argue for an alternative to the cuts and job losses affecting Bucks both in the public and private sector.
There is an alternative. Unison has identified £75 billion that could be found without affecting public services and PCS has identified £111 billion of unpaid tax by the wealthy. To say that the money is not there is a myth that needs to be exposed.
We are asking for your support and involvement as we will need to support each other in the battles to come. The NHS is not secure and Trusts in Bucks are cutting between 5% and 10% over the next three years. We have seen across Europe that once the cuts start then they come back for more. The Con/Libdem Government believes that we have to rely on market forces; we have seen what this means to services in the public sector - job losses, worse terms and conditions and privatisation with even worse terms and conditions and quality. Enough is enough. There is an alternative but we have to campaign for it. We would welcome your views and support and hope that you can publicise these meetings amongst your members.
